Stan Stein

Founder, Chairman, and Chief Technology Officer

Stan Stein is Founder and Chief Technical Officer for ASP Global Services and the driving force behind the vision and technology powering the company. A serial entrepreneur in the development of database and supply-chain driven applications, he has owned his own business since the mid-1960s and is regarded as one of the revolutionary minds behind what is known today as ERP. A technology veteran of 40 years, Stan has developed software solutions for nearly all industries, including retail, consumer goods, healthcare, aerospace, finance, manufacturing, and distribution.

Rising from an early career as an electronics engineer in the aerospace industry, Stan turned his attention to the manufacturing sector when an opportunity to join a service bureau delivering ERP and inventory control solutions for distributors and manufacturers emerged. Extensive experience gained from consulting to logistics companies provided deep knowledge of the complexities of supply chain operations and the unique needs of distributors and third-party logistics providers. Further, it solidified his focus on crafting flexible, low-cost, warehouse management solutions that can be rapidly deployed and easily customized to meet the customer’s evolving needs. In 1993 Stan founded The UniCode Group, capitalizing on the opportunity to bring enterprise-scale supply chain management technology to logistics providers, midsize companies, and large-scale enterprises in a range of vertical markets, including retail, automotive, aerospace/defense, and high-tech. Under his direction, the UniCODE® software applications grew in prominence and emerged as integral logistics solutions for some of the world’s leading companies.

Recognizing the increasing needs of midsized 3PLs for low-cost, flexible, outsourced solutions, Stan responded by leveraging cloud computing best practices, technology, and resources to deliver agile, simple, and powerful web-based solutions for this market segment. Reflective of the way in which this combination of agility, simplicity, power, and global services transformed 3PLs worldwide, Stan halted development work as The UniCODE Group in 2001 to focus exclusively on doing business as ASP Global Services Inc.

On the home front, Stan splits his time between La Quinta and Big Bear, CA. He lives with his wife and enjoys a family life that includes 36 children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. An outdoor enthusiast, Stan spends his personal time skiing, camping, and riding his Harley.
