Tell us a little about yourself…

We provide integrated warehousing and transportation management systems. We’re the primary source of third-party warehousing services and logistics for the Upper Intermountain area in Eastern Idaho and Western Wyoming. We manage a private fleet of trucks for regional delivery and trailer/tractors for long-haul service. The delivery of goods is key to business and one of our primary services, so we work closely with our customers to reduce transit times and lower freight costs.

How did you hear about ASP Global Services?

We researched in-house proprietary systems, SaaS-based models, and various competitive products for about a year, but nothing clicked until we saw SphereWMS. The lack of capital expenditure to get up and running was important. SphereWMS is a fully hosted, web-based service, so we didn’t have to invest in any hardware or worry about IT and maintenance.

How did you manage your warehouse and transportation operations before you started using SphereWMS?

We reached the point in our business where investing in a warehouse management system made sense. We were operating with Excel spreadsheets and didn’t have a system that provided enough visibility into our operations or the level of reporting needed to support our customer’s needs. Spreadsheets could do the job for only so long. So that we could continue providing the services our customers have come to expect, we needed a system that could grow with us and also provide additional functionality and reporting capability.

How has SphereWMS helped you and your company?

Having a global view of the events that affect your operation is crucial. Effectively managing the events that propel the movement of goods in a warehouse is the key to a solid operational process. The system allows us to better utilize existing resources, standardize processes, improve accuracy, and increase efficiencies. Now we can manage multiple warehouses under the umbrella of one system. This visibility empowers us to continually improve our operational methods and processes across our entire business.

The final point that sold me on ASPGS was their personnel and willingness to customize the base product to accommodate special needs in our operations. We had expanded as far as we could, now the door is wide open to build our customer base and develop additional channels of revenue. We have the ability to pursue business from clients that require tracking, reporting, and web visibility; and have launched conversations with potential clients that otherwise would have been beyond our reach.
